Job summary

Balfour Beatty - Energy in Peterhead, Scotland, seeks a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of the ASTI Project, a landmark energy infrastructure programme that strengthens Scotland’s grid and supports a cleaner, more resilient future.

You’ll manage a small team of QS, shape the commercial strategy, control costs, forecast cash flow and final accounts, and collaborate with stakeholders to protect margins and reduce risk on a national-scale project.

Qualifications

• Substantial quantity surveying experience in construction or infrastructure.
• Proven track record of managing commercial performance on complex projects.
• Strong understanding of margin, risk, cash flow, forecasting and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial leadership across the project with strong contractual control and robust governance.
• Lead and develop Quantity Surveying staff across the project.
• Oversee cost reporting, forecasting, cash flow, valuations and final accounts.
• Manage subcontract procurement, accounts and commercial performance.
• Identify and agree variations with the customer and support commercial decision making.
