Job summary

The Arriva Group is seeking a proactive Management Accountant to join the UK Bus Finance Shared Services team in a Hybrid role based at Thurmaston.

You will own month-end activities, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and support monthly management accounts and statutory reporting. This 6-month fixed-term contract offers exposure to a large finance environment and opportunities to contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA or equivalent accounting experience.
• Experience in management or financial accounting.
• Strong month-end, journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Proficient Excel skills and knowledge of finance systems.
• Excellent analytical, detail-oriented and organisational abilities.
• Able to work independently with competing priorities and deadlines.
• Collaborative, proactive stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Own key month-end activities including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve items.
• Support monthly management accounts and period-end reporting.
• Assist with statutory, tax and group reporting.
• Provide information and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to resolve queries.
• Maintain process documentation and ensure internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to standardise and simplify R2R processes.
• Provide flexible support across the wider finance team during busy periods.
