SSE plc is seeking a qualified finance professional to join its centralised R2R Centre of Excellence in a 12-month secondment. You will perform key month-end, half-year and year-end activities, maintain strong controls, and support external audits.

The role emphasizes collaboration with finance teams and continuous process improvements. You will work across General Ledger, Revenue, Fixed Assets, Treasury, Intercompany and VAT with a focus on delivering accurate, audit-ready outputs and timely

Qualifications

• A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver key month-end, half-year and year-end accounting activities.
• Prepare and review journals, reconciliations and reporting outputs.
• Maintain robust financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations and audit trails.
• Support external audits by preparing high-quality documentation.
• Collaborate with Finance Managers and Analysts to improve processes and controls.
