Job summary

Hampshire County Council seeks a Learning and Development Officer (Social Worker) to join the Learning & Development Team in Winchester. You will design and deliver high‑quality training, supporting social work students and newly qualified social workers as they progress toward professional standards.

The role emphasises reflective practice, supervision, and evidence-based learning across Children’s Services, with hybrid working and a strong commitment to workforce development.

Qualifications

• Must hold Social Work England registration and a Social Work degree.
• PEPS accreditation is required.
• Significant experience in Children's Services social work.
• Proven ability to support and assess Social Work Degree students and NQSWs for ASYE.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver and evaluate training to build capability across the children’s services workforce.
• Support and assess students and NQSWs, ensuring ASYE completion.
• Provide reflective and peer supervision, direct observations and quality assurance.
• Facilitate group and blended learning to enhance development.
• Act as a link between frontline services and Learning & Development for evidence-informed practice.
• Champion knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
