Job summary

Mastek is delivering a high-profile UK central government biometric programme. You will be part of a multi-vendor team, designing and building cloud-native Java applications and microservices.

The role demands deep SDLC knowledge, openness to learn, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams. As a Java full stack developer, you will work on RESTful services, unit/integration tests, and modern AWS-native architectures, across an environment that values innovation, security, and scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related discipline.
• Cloud or software engineering certifications are advantageous.
• Extensive Java Full Stack and cloud experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Extensive server-side Java 8+ development with Spring, Spring Boot & Hibernate.
• Design and develop cloud-native Java applications and microservices.
• Build web services and REST APIs with a focus on test-driven development (TDD/BDD).
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
• Lead a team of Java developers and provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate across teams for seamless integration of components.
• Perform code reviews and uphold coding standards.
• Participate in architectural and design discussions.
• Work within Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
• Mentor juniors and manage Scrum timelines and deliverables.
• Communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Understand relational databases (PostgreSQL) and BPM tools.
• Familiar with AWS services and monitoring tools.
