Job summary

Mastek is delivering a high-profile biometric capability programme for a central government department in the UK. As a Java Full Stack Developer, you will design and develop cloud-native applications using cutting-edge technologies within a multi-vendor team.

You will contribute across the full software lifecycle, applying best practices in testing, architecture, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills and willingness to mentor juniors are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive server-side Java 8+ development experience with Spring, Boot and Hibernate.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and REST APIs.
• Experience with unit & integration tests; TDD/BDD.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines including Docker, Jenkins and Kubernetes.
• Led a team of Java developers delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Experience with relational databases, e.g., PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java applications, APIs, and microservices.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of components.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards.
• Participate in architectural and design discussions.
• Mentor junior developers and guide the scrum team.
• Take ownership of timelines and deliverables.
