Job summary

Safran Actuation Systems UK is seeking an IT Infrastructure Support Specialist on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Hybrid pattern across Wolverhampton and Banbury, supporting IT infrastructure, security and reliability across sites.

You will work with the Digital Technology team, provide hands-on 2nd/3rd line support, participate in upgrades and projects, and help implement standards. BPSS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an IT infrastructure support or engineering role.
• Good knowledge of Windows Server environments and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
• Understanding of networking concepts including switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
• Experience supporting virtualisation platforms such as VMware ESXi, vSphere and/or Hyper-V.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and related technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within an IT service management environment.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot servers, networks, storage systems, and infrastructure components.
• Configure, support, monitor, and troubleshoot infrastructure systems including servers, networks, storage, and virtual environments.
• Provide 2nd/3rd line infrastructure support for escalated technical issues.
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, deployments, and improvement projects.
• Support server, network, and endpoint maintenance activities.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and security.
• Assist with patching, system updates, and vulnerability remediation activities.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and support procedures.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Work with third-party vendors and support providers when required.
• Assist with implementing infrastructure standards, security controls, and best practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
• Participate in infrastructure-related project delivery activities.
• Escalate risks, recurring issues, or service concerns appropriately.
