Job summary
Quality Personnel is seeking a Field Service Deployment Engineer for a 6-month fixed-term contract, covering Birmingham upwards and the Northern Area of the UK. You will carry out planned IT deployment activities, upgrade and configure systems, and minimise disruption to laboratory operations.
The role requires hands-on IT skills, field-based support, and willingness to travel across the UK with a full UK driving licence.
Qualifications
- 2+ years in 2nd line IT support or equivalent
- Field-based IT support experience
- Experience with OS deployment, imaging and configuration
- Experience installing and commissioning PC hardware
- Willing to travel to client sites and hold a UK driving licence
Responsibilities
- Windows OS upgrades and security patch remediation
- System imaging, reimaging and configuration
- IT hardware installation, replacement and commissioning
- Software installation and configuration
- Data backup, migration and restoration
- System validation and troubleshooting
- Supporting IT infrastructure and end-user technology
- Working closely with Field Service Engineers, Technical Support and Product Management
- Liaising directly with customers and providing professional technical support
- Travelling to customer sites across the UK as required
