Job summary

Sizewell C is recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to support IS projects across the nuclear new build programme. You will work with the Project Manager and IT Programme Manager to deliver on baselined time, cost, and quality expectations, while adhering to governance and assurance standards.

The role includes collaborating with delivery Partners, creating project initiation documents, and managing risks, budgets, dependencies and reporting to the Project Board.

Qualifications

• Understanding of programme and project management basics and methodologies, e.g., Prince2, MSP or equivalent.
• Experience of delivering IS projects within regulated industry.
• Full project lifecycle experience.
• Prior experience working in Nuclear, asset intensive and/or Safety Critical industries.
• Good technical IT knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the definition, planning, execution, and lead documentation of IS projects to baselined time, cost and quality expectations, according to agreed delivery methods and standards.
• Develop the Project Initiation Document for Sponsor sign off that ensures effective estimation of cost, timescales, and resource requirements, including a detailed Quality Plan to create a ‘contract’ of expectations with the Project Sponsor.
• Collaborate with delivery Partners to ensure that they submit robust and realistic detailed project plans to the Project Manager and support the review to enable critical path analysis, ensuring action is taken where these deviate from agreed tolerances, that resources are assigned to tasks for an optimum project delivery model, and that dependencies on other projects or external milestones are actively managed.
• Support with the assurance and oversight of the effective management for project workstreams to agreed quality criteria throughout the project lifecycle including detailed design, build, test, technical cutover, training, communications, business readiness, deployment, post go-live support and project closure.
• Support the management of project progress, scope, budget, risks, issues, resources, dependencies, stakeholders, vendors, and requirements throughout the project lifecycle, escalating to the Project Manager or Project Sponsor, as appropriate.
• Support with the assurance of delivery Partners complying with agreed standards, procedures and delivery methods and ensuring commitments are identified, agreed, and delivered without impacting the project quality criteria.
• Support with the assurance of the provision of accurate and timely reporting to the Project Board, PMO and SZC senior management as required.
• Support with the assurance of the development and execution of a stakeholder engagement plan to manage relationships, ensuring buy-in, timely involvement and commitment of key stakeholders.
• Interface with other members of the Portfolio delivery team to continuously identify and share the use of best practice.
