Job summary

ICAEW in Exeter is seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to support a busy public sector finance team in Devon. You will deliver monthly management accounts, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and provide financial insights to budget holders and senior stakeholders.

The role requires CIPFA qualification and proven public sector experience, with strong management accounting, reporting skills and the ability to deliver results quickly.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Support budget monitoring, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Provide financial advice and challenge to budget holders and senior stakeholders.
• Prepare accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support year-end processes and audit requirements.
• Monitor income and expenditure against budgets.
• Develop and improve financial reporting and management information.
• Assist with financial modelling and analysis to support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with public sector regulations and policies.
