Job summary

The AA is seeking an Insight Analyst to join the Chief Data & Analytics Office in Oldbury, hybrid working three days a week. You will turn complex data into actionable insights to influence business decisions, customer experience and commercial performance.

You’ll combine SQL with Python or R to analyze large datasets, engage with senior stakeholders, and translate questions into structured analyses. You’ll work with data scientists, BI specialists and engineers to deliver value.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL capabilities: practical experience writing SQL queries to extract, join, manipulate and analyse large or complex datasets.
• Hands on Python or R experience: using Python or R for data manipulation, exploration and analysis.
• Proven stakeholder engagement: experience working directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Business focused analytical experience: using data to investigate problems and support decisions.
• Statistical and analytical knowledge: understanding of regression, classification or clustering.
• Clear communication and influencing skills: explain findings to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands on analysis using SQL and Python or R to explore large datasets and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives and translate questions into analysis.
• Interpret and communicate analytical findings with evidence-based recommendations.
• Apply exploratory data analysis and statistical techniques to investigate patterns and support insights.
• Collaborate with senior analysts, data scientists, BI developers and data engineers on projects.
• Take ownership of analytical deliverables, manage stakeholder expectations and documentation.
