Job summary

Hoare Lea in Bristol or London is seeking a Data Analyst/Scientist or Senior Data Analyst/Scientist to turn data into insight. You will work across the full lifecycle from stakeholder needs to delivering client-ready analytics and models in a multidisciplinary team.

You will use SQL, Python, and tools like PowerBI or Streamlit to explore data, forecast, and build AI-enabled solutions. The role offers hybrid working, varied projects for UK clients, and opportunities to shape analytical standards

Qualifications

• Experience applying data to real-world business or engineering problems.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle an initially ambiguous question.
• Ability to work on projects independently and own deliverables.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation, analysis, visualization and data science (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• Proficiency in data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and understanding of software engineering best practices (version control, testing, code review).
• Strong experience with data visualization frameworks (PowerBI, Streamlit).
• Experience applying machine learning and AI to real-world problems where it provides clear benefit.
• Familiarity with statistical concepts and their application in data analysis.
• Solid communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understanding of data governance, privacy, responsible AI and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Understand stakeholder needs and translate questions into defined analytical problems.
• Develop data-driven solutions to solve real-world business challenges across the company.
• Use SQL, Python and analytical tools to investigate datasets, identify trends and generate insights.
• Apply statistical techniques, forecasting methods, ML and AI approaches where they add value.
• Collaborate with product and software teams to turn analytical work into reusable tools and data-driven products.
• Develop reproducible and maintainable analytical code with version control and testing.
• Share approaches and best practices to raise analytical capability across the business.
