Job summary

VIQU is recruiting an Infrastructure and Security Engineer in Birmingham for a hybrid role. You will own the infrastructure and security estate, with around 80% project work and 20% reactive support, collaborating with a small IT team.

The role emphasizes cloud and on‑premises infrastructure, Microsoft 365, ISO 27001 controls, and strong governance. You will engage with security vendors and lead improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in improving IT and security estates.
• Strong cloud and on‑premises infrastructure knowledge.
• Understanding of security, risk and governance within change control.
• Relevant technical certifications or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve cloud infrastructure alongside Microsoft 365.
• Patch, monitor, backup and test restores/backups.
• Provide senior IT support when required.
• Implement identity and access controls including privileged access.
• Coordinate vulnerability scanning and penetration tests as needed.
• Support ISO 27001 controls, risk management and audit readiness.
• Manage third‑party suppliers (e.g., AWS) and relationships.
• Deputise for Head of IT when required.
