Job summary

VIQU IT is seeking an Infrastructure and Security Engineer for a Birmingham-based hybrid role. You will own and advance the infrastructure and security estate, with ~80% project work and ~20% reactive support.

The role requires hands-on management of cloud and on‑prem environments and close collaboration with IT leadership. You will patch, monitor, back up, recover, and contribute to ISO 27001 controls, risk management, and audit readiness while coordinating vulnerability scanning and

Qualifications

• Senior infrastructure experience with focus on security.
• Experience with cloud and on‑prem infrastructure.
• Knowledge of security, risk, governance and change control.
• Relevant technical qualifications or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to own projects with minimal direction.
• Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve cloud infrastructure alongside the Microsoft 365 technology stack.
• Patching, monitoring, backup and recovery (including testing restores).
• Provide third level IT support when required.
• Implement identity and access management, including privileged access.
• Coordinate vulnerability scanning and organise penetration tests when needed.
• Support ISO 27001 controls, risk management and audit readiness.
• Managing third‑party suppliers (e.g. AWS cloud partners).
• Deputise for the Head of IT when required.
