Job summary

Adecco is recruiting for an Assistant Human Resources Officer (Part-Time) to work within the Dorset Police Force in Exeter. This temporary, part-time role offers Hybrid working and 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at £14.10 per hour. End date: November 2027.

You will provide advisory support on performance, attendance and disciplinary matters, support HR processes, and help maintain records and documentation to enable smooth people management.

Qualifications

• Experience in an HR environment, supporting managers with people management issues.
• Effective communication skills to provide clear and concise guidance.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
• Resilience and assertiveness in handling challenging situations.
• Strong administrative and computer skills, including spreadsheets and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Advisory support on performance and attendance management, discipline, and change management ensuring policy compliance.
• Attendance management: monitor milestones and liaise with managers to address concerns.
• Disciplinary support: assist in processes, draft documentation and inquiries as needed.
• Provide guidance on employment lifecycle processes, such as flexible working and annual leave.
• Produce HR materials and maintain records to support effective people management.
