Job summary

Isca Recruitment is recruiting an HR Advisor for a growing organisation in the Exeter area. You’ll combine hands-on HR support with longer-term projects to influence how people practices develop as the business grows.

You’ll provide practical HR advice across the employee lifecycle, manage employee relations cases, coach managers, review policies, and support change, engagement and wellbeing initiatives. The role is hybrid with 1–2 days in the office and a strong focus on employee experience.

Qualifications

• Broad HR experience as an HR Advisor, People Advisor or similar.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience handling employee relations matters independently.
• Experience supporting performance management and coaching managers through challenging people matters.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail, balancing competing priorities.
• Continuous improvement mindset and genuine interest in employee experience and workplace culture.
• Collaborative approach with the confidence to take ownership and get things done.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, commercially focused HR advice to employees and managers across the lifecycle.
• Manage employee relations matters including performance, absence, disciplinary and grievance cases.
• Coach and support managers on performance, engagement, development and difficult conversations.
• Review and develop HR policies, processes and guidance in line with legislation and best practice.
• Support organisational change, employee engagement, wellbeing, inclusion and retention initiatives.
• Use feedback and data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Identify ways to improve HR processes and introduce scalable solutions as the business grows.
• Support workforce planning, people metrics and management development.
• Contribute to wider people and culture projects.
