Job summary

Isca Recruitment is urgently recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor in the Exeter area. This role blends hands-on employee relations with broader HR projects, giving you autonomy to shape people practices as the organisation grows.

You’ll combine practical HR support with longer-term initiatives, partnering with managers to deliver a positive employee experience and robust, compliant HR processes in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experienced HR professional with strong advisory skills.
• Broad HR experience across employee relations, policies and performance management.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, commercially focused HR advice to employees and managers.
• Handle employee relations matters including performance, absence, disciplinary and grievances.
• Coach and support managers on performance, engagement, development and difficult conversations.
• Review and develop HR policies, processes and guidance to reflect legislation and best practice.
• Support change initiatives, employee engagement, wellbeing, inclusion and retention efforts.
• Use feedback and data to identify opportunities for improvement in HR processes.
• Identify scalable HR solutions as the business grows.
• Support workforce planning, people metrics and management development.
• Contribute to wider people and culture projects.

Are you an experienced HR professional who loves the people side of HR but is equally confident getting stuck into employee relations, policies, performance management and the day-to-day realities of supporting managers?

Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting an HR Advisor for a successful and growing organisation based in the Exeter area.

This is a new role due to continued growth and an opportunity to join a progressive business where people and culture genuinely matter. Working as a trusted HR partner across the organisation, you'll have plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to make a real impact as the business continues to grow.

This isn't a role where you'll simply be administering established HR processes. You'll be joining an ambitious, growing organisation and will have the opportunity to influence how its people practices develop as it grows.

It's an excellent role for a proactive, commercially minded HR professional who enjoys variety and wants to be more than simply a point of contact for HR queries.

You'll combine hands-on HR support with longer-term projects, helping to develop people practices, support managers and create a consistently positive employee experience.

Responsibilities

• Providing practical, commercially focused HR advice to employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Managing employee relations matters including performance, absence, disciplinary and grievance cases.
• Coaching and supporting managers with performance, engagement, development and difficult conversations.
• Reviewing and developing HR policies, processes and guidance in line with employment legislation and best practice.
• Supporting organisational change, employee engagement, wellbeing, inclusion and retention initiatives.
• Using employee feedback and people data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Identifying ways to improve HR processes and introduce scalable solutions as the business grows.
• Supporting workforce planning, people metrics and management development.
• Contributing to wider people and culture projects.

HR Advisor - The Rewards

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000pa doe

Hours: Full time Mon - Fri, 37.5hours

Location: Hybrid with 1-2 days per week in office (free parking on site)

HR Advisor - About You

• We're looking for an experienced HR professional who combines strong technical HR knowledge with an approachable, pro-active and people-focused style.
• Broad HR experience gained as an HR Advisor, People Advisor or similar.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Employee relations experience with the confidence to manage cases independently.
• Experience supporting performance management and coaching managers through challenging people matters.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Sound judgement, discretion and the ability to handle sensitive situations.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
• A continuous improvement mindset and genuine interest in employee experience and workplace culture.
• A collaborative approach, with the confidence to take ownership and get things done.
