Job summary

Grenade is seeking an Export Compliance Manager in a hybrid role based near Birmingham. You will be the resident expert for import/export compliance, guiding customer service and logistics teams, coordinating certificates, and ensuring animal-origin product documentation is accurate.

You will work with UK/Netherlands/international teams, drive process improvements, and support global market expansion while maintaining strong regulatory knowledge and proactive communication.

Qualifications

• Experience within a food export/compliance role.
• Knowledge of Dutch regulations is essential.
• Ensuring accuracy in documentation and communication.
• Organisational skills and a proactive mindset.
• Driven by facts and confident enough to challenge up.
• A good understanding of the supply chain/chain of custody linked to products of animal origin.

Responsibilities

• Support and advise the customer service and logistics export team on the requirements of compliance for import and export shipments between the UK, The Netherlands, and the Rest of the World.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to obtain the required information and assist with the application for relevant certificates from the Chamber of Commerce and other regulatory authorities in both the UK and the Netherlands.
• Train new members of staff on export procedures and documentation requirements.
• Ensure supply chain maps are in place for all products of animal origin, are accurate and are maintained.
• Own technical shipping document compliance, including Certificates of Free Sale & Health Certificates, liaising with customers and authorities as needed.
• Identify trade restrictions and legislation applicable to exports and brief key stakeholders.
• Assist with commodity codes, restricted countries & HS/HTS classifications.
• Register products in international territories prior to export sales.
• Take ownership of managing and overseeing projects and communicating with international teams for alignment.
• Continuous improvement of your area of operations by gathering ideas and implementing them.
