Job summary

Oaklands Global Limited is seeking an Export Control Manager to oversee export-control compliance across a multi-site manufacturing environment. You will classify goods and data, prepare licences and manage authorisations, with a focus on UK/EU/US regimes and tech controls.

The role is full-time and onsite in the United Kingdom, requiring hands-on experience in defence/aerospace or advanced manufacturing settings. You will train teams and report to senior management on risk and incidents.

Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of UK export licensing (SPIRE / LITE) and EU dual-use controls.
• Experience with U.S. ITAR and license/technology-control planning.
• Knowledge of UK/EU/US sanctions regimes and restricted-party screening.
• Experience running an export-control programme in defence, aerospace or advanced-manufacturing.
• Understanding of deemed-export/reexport and access controls for foreign persons.
• Familiarity with CUI/CDI concepts and DFARS safeguarding requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in classification/record-keeping.
• Ability to communicate regulatory requirements clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve the company's export-control compliance programme, policies and procedures.
• Maintain registrations and filings, including ITAR registration.
• Act as principal point of contact for export-control matters with regulators and customers.
• Classify goods, software and data under applicable control lists; manage records and rulings.
• Prepare, submit and manage export licences, agreements and authorisations.
• Determine licensing routes and manage diversion, sanctions-related risks.
• Operate technology control plans governing access to controlled data.
• Advise on storage/transmission of controlled data including cloud and encryption carve-outs.
• Assess deemed-export/reexport risks and access controls for foreign persons.
• Conduct restricted-party, sanctions and end-user screening.
• Deliver export-control training and report performance to management.
• Identify and remediate potential violations; conduct internal audits and maintain audit trails.
