Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking a Financial Compliance Auditor to strengthen financial control and compliance across its academic Schools and Professional Service departments. You will conduct compliance audits, track actions and advise colleagues with clear, practical recommendations.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Assurance, you will analyse financial data, communicate issues to non-finance staff, and help develop the university's financial compliance framework.

Qualifications

• Experience in audit, assurance, compliance or financial control roles.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management and assurance principles.
• Ability to analyse financial data and communicate findings clearly to non-specialists.

Responsibilities

• Deliver financial compliance audits across academic Schools and Professional Service departments.
• Extract and analyse financial data to identify trends, exceptions and risks.
• Translate findings into clear messages with causes, consequences and actions.
• Maintain the assurance action tracker and monitor progress.
• Provide clear, professional advice through the central compliance mailbox.
• Support development and improvement of the financial compliance framework.
• Contribute to policy updates and process development.
