Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking an Assistant Security Controller to provide high-level operational support within the AMRC security function. You will bridge security protocols with daily business, assist with sign-offs on internal security documents, and guide personnel through vetting and background checks while maintaining discretion.

You will be a central information hub for security enquiries, support accreditation efforts, and help align processes with university-wide policy,

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining accurate records in an electronic database with sensitive data handling.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access for documentation and reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication across diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to analyse information and collaborate on solutions.

Responsibilities

• Deploy understanding of project security aims and act as a knowledge source.
• Develop relationships across the organisation and attend formal meetings for security function.
• Undertake investigations and support complex security analyses with the Security Controller.
• Maintain security data, ensure systems and registries are compliant and up to date.
• Provide information and guidance for staff bulletins, policies and security-related queries.
• Manage vetting process operations and be the primary contact for vetting cases.
