Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking an analytically-minded audit/finance professional to join its developing Finance compliance function, delivering financial compliance healthchecks across academic Schools and Professional Service departments, and supporting policy development.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Assurance, you will extract and analyse financial data, communicate findings to non-finance colleagues, maintain the assurance action tracker, and help shape the university's

Qualifications

• Experience in internal or external audit, assurance or financial controls.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance and risk management.
• Ability to analyze financial data and present findings clearly to non-finance audiences.
• Excellent written communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver financial compliance healthchecks across Schools and Professional Service departments.
• Extract and analyse financial data to identify trends and control weaknesses.
• Translate risks and findings into practical messages with causes and actions.
• Maintain the assurance action tracker and monitor progress to closure.
• Support development and maintenance of the financial compliance framework.
