Job summary

Venus Recruitment Ltd in Fleet is seeking a Comms & Engagement Officer – Climate Change for a hybrid, initial 3-month contract at £20–£21 per hour. Core hours 8:30–16:30, Mon–Fri with some flex; 2 days in office.

The role focuses on inspiring communities to take action on climate change and sustainability through engaging communications and local initiatives. The position may suit an experienced engagement professional seeking part-time work with a focus on community engagement and campaigns

Qualifications

• Experience in communications and engagement to inspire communities to take positive action on climate change and sustainability.
• Part-time opportunity with a focus on community engagement.
• Ability to translate complex environmental issues into accessible public communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an integrated communications and public engagement strategy.
• Engage residents, community groups, schools and partner organisations through campaigns, events and local initiatives.
• Create content for digital channels, social media, websites, newsletters and printed materials.
• Plan and deliver campaigns that encourage participation and positive behaviour change.
• Build relationships with community organisations, volunteers and external stakeholders.
• Lead engagement activities including sustainability events and educational programmes.
• Develop and promote volunteering and community-led opportunities.
• Translate complex climate and sustainability information into accessible public communications.
