Job summary

National Grid is hiring a Project Development Engineer to lead multi-discipline investment teams through pre-construction stages for customer connection and network development. You will ensure designs meet standards and drive value for consumers.

The role requires delivering feasibility studies, optioneering, and FEED activities, coordinating with delivery and land teams to enable efficient execution and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Experience with Electricity Transmission Systems.
• Proven project management across full lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of RIIO regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and pre-construction delivery of complex network investment and customer connection projects.
• Validate requirements with stakeholders and manage asset health concerns and strategic objectives.
• Develop, evaluate and cost investment options using cost-benefit analysis.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Prepare regulatory submissions and governance documentation to secure approvals.
