Thales OME is seeking an Electronics Engineer in Reading with development‑oriented responsibilities across the full design lifecycle. You’ll work in a close‑knit team on state‑of‑the‑art defence and security platforms, contributing from concept through to validation and qualification.

Some on‑site work is required, with hybrid arrangements possible. The role offers exposure to multi‑disciplinary projects, collaboration with systems, mechanical, software teams, and opportunities to grow technical

Qualifications

• Experience of electronic/electrical design in a real‑world environment.
• Use of schematic capture packages (Cadence, Mentor Graphics or similar).
• Practical experience of lab work and circuit testing.
• Experience testing at board and system level (board bring‑up, EMC).
• Understanding of engineering process and design lifecycles.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake design of electronic circuit assemblies from concept through test and integration.
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, software, safety teams to develop solutions.
• Ensure products meet all requirements and document designs.
• Participate in peer reviews and project design reviews.
• Report progress against cost, schedule and performance.
