Electronics Engineer
Location: Reading – Hybrid Working

Thales OME designs a range of state‑of‑the‑art solutions for some of the most technically advanced defence and security platforms in the world, and we’re seeking talented engineers who can apply their knowledge and skills in an electronics role.
This role is a development role, intended to give an engineer with some existing design experience the opportunity to build their technical skills, widen their exposure to different aspects of the design lifecycle, and learn about complex defence products in more detail. The role will cover all aspects of the product lifecycle, from concept studies, requirements, selection of technology, design and development, integration, validation and qualification.
There are positions available based at our sites in Glasgow and in Reading. While some of the role may be carried out from home, some attendance on site will be necessary for lab testing, system integration and some aspects of collaborative work.

Security Clearance Requirement:
Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
