Job summary

Sandwell Council is seeking an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) Officer to join the Inclusive Learning Service. You will coordinate assessments and maintain EHCPs for children and young people aged 0 to 25, working with families, schools and health professionals to secure appropriate support.

You will chair meetings, ensure legal compliance and statutory timescales, and provide guidance to families and professionals on SEND processes. This role is Hybrid at Sandwell Council House in Oldbury.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments.
• Led or facilitated multi-agency meetings.
• Drafts EHCPs that are legally compliant and fit for purpose.
• Act as named keyworker for families and professionals.
• Able to travel across boroughs if required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments for 0–25.
• Act as a key contact for families, schools and partner agencies.
• Develop and maintain high-quality EHCPs that are outcome-focused.
• Chair and facilitate planning meetings and annual reviews.
• Contribute to statutory SEND services and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with education, health and care professionals to secure support.
