Job summary

Hampshire County Council in Test Valley is hiring an Early Years Neurodivergent Service Support Worker to support pre‑school children with neurodivergent profiles and SEMH needs. You’ll work with families, settings and practitioners to develop tailored approaches, provide specialist advice, deliver training, and help with transitions into school in a hybrid role across Andover or Basingstoke.

Applicants should have NVQ Level 3 (Health, Education or Social Care) or be willing to work towards it,

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health, Education or Social Care (or willingness to work towards one).
• Experience with pre-school children and families including SEND and neurodivergent needs.
• Understanding of child development and inclusive practice.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with professionals.
• Commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children and families.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice and modelling strategies for children with neurodivergent needs.
• Develop tailored approaches with children, families and practitioners to promote inclusion.
• Facilitate joint planning with parents; provide workshops and resources to strengthen home learning.
• Raise awareness of neurodivergent and SEMH needs; deliver training.
• Contribute to multi-agency meetings, transition planning and partnership working.
