Job summary

Amey Ltd is seeking an Assistant Drainage Engineer in Manchester to join our Consulting Highways team. This hybrid role supports the Design Team Leader on drainage schemes, mentoring junior designers and delivering technically sound solutions. You will build hydraulic models and manage design submissions through construction close-out.

Qualifications

• Completed Degree Apprenticeship or employer-led early careers programme progressing toward Incorporated or Chartered status.
• Knowledge of drainage design processes in civil engineering.
• Ability to produce technically sound engineering solutions with guidance.
• Familiar with health, safety and welfare procedures including CDM.

Responsibilities

• Support Design Team Leader on highways drainage schemes.
• Lead on projects and mentor junior designers.
• Prepare designs, calculations, drawings and documentation for scheme deliverables.
• Contribute to health and safety practices within the team.
