Job summary

Amey Consulting is seeking a permanent Principal Drainage Infrastructure Engineer to join its Highways team in Sheffield, with shared office space and flexible hybrid working options. You will lead on highway drainage schemes, provide technical direction, and mentor junior designers while coordinating with clients and National Highways.

Qualifications

• Senior Engineer level experience in highways drainage design.
• Experience leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and deliverables for drainage schemes.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations and drawings to meet quality and cost targets.
• Manage project budgets and commercial aspects within portfolio.
• Liaise with clients and suppliers; present proposals and respond to queries.
• Contribute to bids and bid-winning activities with technical and commercial offers.
• Promote and implement health and safety best practices within the team.
