Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Data & Analytics team and drive data-driven decisions across customer experience, pricing, personalisation, and operations. You will build and deploy predictive models, work with large datasets using Python, PySpark, SQL, and Azure Databricks, and clearly communicate findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience deploying ML models to production with business impact.
• Advanced Python and ML modelling in commercial environments.
• Experience with Azure Databricks, SQL, and large-scale data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy machine learning and predictive analytics solutions that address key business challenges and deliver measurable commercial outcomes
• Explore, profile, and analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and features that improve model performance
• Apply statistical techniques, feature engineering, and model tuning to create robust and scalable analytical solutions
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and ML Engineers to operationalise models and embed them into customer journeys, business processes, and technology platforms
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and model outputs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organisation
• Contribute to the growth of data science capability within Halfords, helping shape best practices, approaches, and future opportunities
