Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Data & Analytics team in Redditch. You’ll build and deploy machine learning models that drive pricing, personalization and customer experience, delivering measurable business value.

You’ll work end-to-end from data exploration and feature engineering to model development and deployment, using Python, PySpark, SQL and Azure Databricks, and communicate insights to both technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist with production ML deployments.
• Advanced Python skills and ML modelling in commercial environments.
• Experience with Azure Databricks, SQL, and cloud data platforms.
• End-to-end data science delivery from problem framing to deployment.
• Strong analytical thinking and stakeholder communication.
• Ability to work in a small, agile team with ownership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy ML and predictive analytics solutions.
• Explore and analyse large datasets to identify trends and features.
• Apply statistical techniques and feature engineering for models.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and ML Engineers to operationalise models.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Help grow data science capability and define best practices.
