Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data & Analytics function in Redditch. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that power reporting, analytics and decision-making across the business.

Working with modern cloud technologies, you will ensure trusted, high-quality data is readily available to stakeholders and support ongoing data platform investments. The role offers hybrid working with 3 days at the Redditch centre.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building data pipelines and data products in a modern data environment.
• Experience with cloud-based ETL/ELT processes and data integration patterns.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling, data lineage, and data quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations connecting operational systems to analytics and reporting platforms.
• Develop, test, and optimise ETL processes using cloud-based technologies and best practices.
• Transform manual reporting processes into scalable, automated data solutions.
• Produce and maintain documentation including source-to-target mappings and data lineage.
• Support development of reusable datasets and BI-ready data products for trusted reporting.
• Investigate data issues, performance bottlenecks, and data quality concerns.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to meet technical and business requirements.
