Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data & Analytics team at the Redditch site. You will design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations powering reporting, analytics and decision-making across the business.

Work with modern cloud-based technologies to ensure high-quality data, enable trusted insights, and support large-scale data platform transformation programmes. This role offers hybrid working with 3 days in Redditch and remote days as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and maintaining data pipelines, integrations, and data products.
• Strong hands-on experience with modern cloud-based data platforms and engineering best practices.
• Ability to analyse source systems, profile data, and troubleshoot data quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations that connect operational systems to analytics and reporting platforms
• Develop, test, and optimise ETL processes using modern cloud-based technologies
• Transform manual reporting processes into scalable, automated data solutions
• Produce and maintain clear documentation, including data lineage and technical specs
• Support the development of reusable datasets and BI-ready data products
• Investigate data issues, performance bottlenecks, and data quality concerns
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet requirements
