Job summary

Halfords Group PLC in the West Midlands is seeking a Data Scientist to shape data-driven decisions across customer experience, pricing and operations. You will build and deploy ML models using Python, PySpark, SQL and Azure Databricks, profile large datasets and translate insights into actions for stakeholders.

You will collaborate with data engineers and ML engineers in a small, agile team, supporting hybrid working at our Redditch centre while delivering measurable commercial value.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist with ML models deployed in production.
• Advanced Python skills with machine learning focus in commercial environments.
• Strong experience with Azure Databricks, SQL and large-scale data analysis.
• Excellent communication and storytelling to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy machine learning and predictive analytics solutions that address key business challenges and deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
• Explore, profile, and analyse large datasets to identify trends and features that improve model performance.
• Apply statistical techniques, feature engineering, and model tuning for robust solutions.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and ML Engineers to operationalise models into customer journeys and platforms.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
