Job summary

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to help develop and improve our cloud data platform, enabling teams across Fundraising, Marketing and the wider charity to access trusted data.

Working closely with our Senior Data Engineer, you'll design, build and optimise data pipelines, SQL models and integrations. The role offers hybrid work with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office and a salary of £56,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and integrations.
• Advanced SQL including data modelling, transformations and query optimisation.
• Experience with cloud-based data warehouses; Snowflake is valuable.
• Experience integrating data from different systems using APIs/connectors.
• Understanding of data quality, security and governance in modern data engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with automation focus.
• Good communication and stakeholder management with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Experience with CRM, finance, digital or other integrated systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise data pipelines that provide reliable data across the organisation.
• Develop and improve SQL-based data models, transformations and queries.
• Build and maintain integrations between CRM, fundraising, finance, digital and other systems.
• Help evolve our cloud data warehouse, identify automation opportunities, improve performance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot platform and pipeline performance for reliability and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain high standards of data quality, security and governance.
• Collaborate with Fundraising, Marketing, Technology and other teams to translate needs into data solutions.
• Document solutions and share knowledge to build a resilient data capability.
