Job summary

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to build and optimize our cloud data platform. You will collaborate across Fundraising, Marketing and wider teams to deliver trusted, high‑quality data for decision-making.

Working closely with the Senior Data Engineer, you’ll design data pipelines, develop SQL models, and implement secure integrations. The role offers a hybrid working pattern with 2 days in the London office and a focus on continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills including modelling, transformations and query optimisation.
• Experience with cloud-based data warehouses, Snowflake is a plus.
• Experience integrating data from multiple systems via APIs, connectors or other approaches.
• Understanding of modern data engineering practices including data quality, security and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise data pipelines for reliable data access across the organisation.
• Develop and improve SQL-based data models, transformations and queries.
• Build and maintain integrations between CRM, fundraising, finance, digital and other systems.
• Evolve the cloud data warehouse, automate processes, improve performance and simplify workflows.
• Monitor and troubleshoot platform and pipeline performance for reliability and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain high standards of data quality, security and governance.
