Job summary

Aldi UK is seeking a Customs Assistant within its Supply Chain to help ensure goods move smoothly across borders while complying with customs legislation. You will work with customs agents, suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage declarations, master data and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to collaborate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee customs declarations, via direct completion or coordinating third-party agents.
• Ensure customs entries are accurate and compliant with legislation and business requirements.
• Own and maintain customs-related master data for accuracy and operability.
• Monitor customs performance and proactively resolve issues impacting availability or service.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments to gather and validate product and customs data.
• Lead investigations into customs issues and implement root-cause solutions.
• Support compliance through governance and documentation standards.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs via process improvements and better customs procedures.
• Review processes and implement improvements to boost efficiency and reduce risk.
• Build relationships with customs agents, logistics providers and stakeholders.
• Analyse and present customs and operational data to drive decisions and improvements.
• Assist with legislative, regulatory and business changes implementation.
