Job summary

Yorkshire Water is seeking a proactive Commercial Governance Coordinator to join our Commercial Services team in Leeds. You will coordinate performance, planning and governance activities, providing visibility across a £1.5bn spend and supporting governance forums.

The role requires strong organisational skills, stakeholder engagement and the ability to drive improvements. Hybrid working 1-2 days in the Leeds office, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels.
• A proactive and positive approach, taking ownership and following tasks through to completion.
• Experience coordinating activities, projects, programmes or governance processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and identify practical solutions to problems.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
• Ability to build rapport quickly and establish trusted working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and support delivery without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate performance, planning and governance activities across Commercial Services, helping provide visibility and oversight across a function with an annual spend of approximately £1.5bn.
• Support the effective operation of governance forums, ensuring actions, decisions, risks and commitments are captured, tracked and progressed.
• Build trusted relationships across Commercial Services and act as a key point of contact, helping stakeholders navigate processes and access the support and information they need.
• Coordinate key team priorities and activities, ensuring commitments are delivered and dependencies are identified and managed.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve governance arrangements, team effectiveness and ways of working.
• Coordinate and contribute to reports, presentations, updates and communications that support leadership teams and governance forums.
• Support planning and performance management activities, ensuring information is accurate, timely and communicated consistently.
• Maintain governance records, playbooks, templates and management information, ensuring key documentation remains accessible, accurate and up to date.
• Work collaboratively across Commercial Services to promote consistency, standardisation and adoption of agreed processes and ways of working.
• Support stakeholder engagement activities, workshops and cross-functional initiatives.
• Provide practical support to improvement activities, helping translate ideas into actions and supporting successful implementation.
• Demonstrate initiative and ownership by identifying issues, proposing solutions and driving agreed actions through to completion.
