Job summary

Data Careers is partnering with a secure public sector organisation in the East Midlands to recruit a Server & Cloud Engineer. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting a hybrid server and cloud estate within a highly secure environment, ensuring resilience, security and availability of critical systems.

The position is predominantly remote, with occasional travel to Lincolnshire for team activities and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience with Azure and Microsoft 365 in enterprise environments.
• Hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure expertise.
• Strong server administration and enterprise infrastructure support experience.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, VxRail).
• Active Directory administration and identity management fundamentals.
• Networking concepts incl. TCP/IP, LAN/WAN.
• Security remediation and compliance activities familiarity.
• ITIL service management principles knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide third-line support for infrastructure incidents, problems and service requests.
• Design, implement and maintain hybrid server and cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Support and administer Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Manage and maintain server, storage and virtualization platforms.
• Ensure systems are proactively monitored and maintained for maximum availability.
• Implement security controls, patch management and remediation activities.
• Support infrastructure projects and technology improvement initiatives.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
• Collaborate with security, networking and operations teams for resilient services.
• Participate in out-of-hours support rota when required.
