Job summary

Premier Guarantee, Birkenhead Head Office, is seeking an experienced Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of Structural Warranty claims. You will act as the primary contact for policyholders, guiding them through the claims journey, ensuring fair and timely outcomes in line with FCA and internal standards.

You will work with Claims Team Leaders and other stakeholders, handling inbound inquiries, recording information accurately, and applying delegated authority to resolve claims while

Qualifications

• Experience handling insurance claims and delivering a high standard of customer service.
• Working knowledge of FCA regulations and their application within claims handling.
• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to fair outcomes.
• Strong investigation, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Confident decision-maker able to assess coverage within delegated authority.
• Calm under pressure with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with IT systems and claims processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of new and existing Structural Warranty claims within delegated authority.
• Act as main point of contact for policyholders throughout a claim lifecycle.
• Handle inbound calls and correspondence, guiding on the claims process.
• Gather, review and record all information and documentation required to assess claims.
• Assess claims fairly to determine coverage decisions.
• Proactively manage small to medium value/complexity claims for prompt settlement.
• Set and maintain claim reserves across the lifecycle.
• Handle declinatures and appeals in line with terms and regulations.
• Collaborate with insurers, solicitors, surveyors and internal teams to progress claims.
• Identify potential recovery or mitigation opportunities with Recoveries Team.
