Job summary

Munich Re Group in the UK is seeking a Claims Handler within the Operations division to manage structural warranty claims. You will act as the main contact for policyholders, ensuring claims are handled fairly, in line with FCA regulations and internal standards.

You will handle intake, assess coverage, set reserves, coordinate with solicitors, surveyors and insurers, and contribute to continuous improvement of the claims process while delivering excellent customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience handling insurance claims and delivering high-quality customer service.
• Working knowledge of FCA regulations and their application to claims handling.
• Customer-focused mindset with commitment to fair and consistent outcomes.
• Strong investigative, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of Structural Warranty claims within delegated authority.
• Be the main point of contact for policyholders throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
• Handle inbound calls and correspondence, guiding customers through the claims process.
• Gather, review and record all information and documentation for claim assessment.
• Assess claims fairly to determine appropriate coverage decisions.
• Proactively manage small to mid-value claims to ensure fair settlements.
• Set and maintain claim reserves as the claim progresses.
• Co-ordinate with insurers, solicitors, surveyors and internal teams to progress claims.
• Identify potential recovery or mitigation opportunities with the Recoveries Team.
