Job summary

Broaden is seeking a Technical Claims Handler in Bristol. You will act as the technical anchor for the claims team, ensuring accurate handling in line with regulatory and insurer requirements. The role combines hands-on claims work with mentoring colleagues and driving improvements to reduce leakage and improve outcomes.

You will report to Head of Claims in a fast-paced startup environment, balancing autonomy with accountability, and you will operate in a hybrid model from our Bristol office.

Qualifications

• Significant, proven experience in insurance claims handling across specialty products.
• Experience mentoring and coaching claims handlers.
• Proven track record working within delegated authority frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage complex claims from initial notification to final settlement.
• Act as first-line referral for complex claims and technical queries.
• Review decisions within delegated authority and ensure compliance with FCA and Consumer Duty.
• Coach and onboard new claims colleagues to raise team capability.
• Track referrals and contribute to management reporting on claims trends.
