Job summary

AECOM in Birmingham is seeking an Associate Cost Manager to join our growing Cost Management team. You will cover the full project lifecycle from inception to defects, driving delivery and ensuring value for clients across commercial, industrial, residential and education sectors.

The ideal candidate holds a BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management, Chartered Status with the RICS, and a proven track record in cost management, leadership, and client advisory work within the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
• Professional Qualified – Chartered Status with the RICS.
• Proven experience in Cost Management providing a full spectrum of deliverables throughout projects.
• Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.
• Demonstrate leadership potential and good client relationship management.
• Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise digital measurement, cost planning and tender documentation tools shall be essential.
• Experience of project types/sizes/sectors within our active sectors in the UK – i.e. Commercial, Industrial and Logistics, Residential, Higher Education and Mixed Use.

Responsibilities

• Lead and Deliver: Drive project delivery on our cost management commissions to meet time, budget, and quality requirements, while fostering collaboration among clients, consultants, contractors, and team members.
