Job summary

Places for People in the UK is seeking an Assistant Technical Manager to support the Places Developments technical team, delivering the technical aspects of residential development projects across the Midlands and North region. This role is predominantly home-based with the Leeds office visited weekly.

You will coordinate external consultants, manage production drawings, assist with planning applications and liaise with NHBC and Building Control to support timely completions.

Qualifications

• Experience in the construction or development industry.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Able to work well in a team and independently.
• Ambitious, motivated and keen to learn.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating designs from external consultants and participating in design team meetings.
• Managing and coordinating production drawings and specifications to CDM and temporary works standards.
• Supporting local authority approvals including Building Control and planning conditions.
• Assisting the Development team with technical input to planning applications.
• Building relationships with NHBC and Building Control to support timely completions.
• Supporting handovers to Commercial, Build, Sales and Asset teams with clear technical information.
• Developing understanding of planning systems, utilities, geotechnical and environmental constraints.
• Preparing reports and progress schedules for the Head of Technical / Technical Director.
• Assisting with tracking fees and reporting on variances.
