Job summary

ARV Solutions Contracts is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in Derby to support the commercial team on a range of offsite construction projects. The role suits graduates or early-career QSs looking to develop skills in cost management, procurement and contract administration.

You will work with project teams, assist with measurements, budgets and valuations, and gain exposure to JCT/NEC contracts. Hybrid working and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying, Assistant QS or Trainee QS role.
• Good understanding of construction and commercial principles.
• Competent numerical and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of measurement and cost management processes.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Eagerness to learn and develop within a commercial construction role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the commercial management of projects from inception through to completion.
• Support the preparation of measurements, cost plans and project budgets.
• Assist with valuations, variations and final account preparation.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation.
• Support cost reporting and forecasting activities.
• Work closely with project and site teams to monitor project performance.
• Assist with the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop an understanding of JCT and NEC contracts and commercial processes.
