Job summary

Southern Water is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the Water Infrastructure team in Falmer on a hybrid basis. You will support the Project Manager with day-to-day management, site inspections and project documentation to help deliver on time, cost and quality objectives.

In this role you will engage with stakeholders, assist in delivering small to medium projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to governance and reporting.

Qualifications

• APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Project Support: assist the Project Manager in daily management, supervision and coordination to meet time, cost and quality objectives.
• Site Inspections: attend project sites to monitor progress and ensure health and safety, quality, environmental and security standards.
• Project Documentation: help prepare monthly status reports, cost forecasts and commercial communications (e.g., using CEMAR).
• Stakeholder Engagement: support liaison with Developers, Clients, Service Providers and internal teams to ensure smooth progression.
• Project Delivery: assist in managing small to medium projects or components of larger schemes to high standards.
• Regulatory Compliance: conduct Domestic Water Regulation inspections and assist with commercial works.
• Governance & Reporting: support risk/change reports and maintain project systems for monitoring progress.
