Job summary

Citizen Housing Group is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team. You will report to the Accountant and support across the business with financial and performance information.

The role focuses on providing accurate financial support to Budget Holders, producing management accounts and forecasts, and developing reporting from the Open Accounts system. Hybrid working with 2 days in the office is available in Birmingham.

Qualifications

• GCSEs A-C including Maths and English.
• AAT Level 3 or working towards CCAB within 12 months.
• Ability to present and explain data analysis to stakeholders.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounting environment providing accurate financial information.
• Knowledge of computerised accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial advice and support to Budget Holders for effective controls and forecasting.
• Conduct budgetary control meetings to ensure proper budgeting.
• Reconcile control accounts regularly.
• Write/modify reports from the finance database (Open Accounts) and ad hoc reports as required.
• Assist in producing monthly management accounts and forecasting outturns.
