Hays Accountancy & Finance in Gloucester is recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant/Management Accountant to join a growing finance team. You will support the Head of Finance and help produce monthly management accounts and detailed financial schedules.

The role covers accruals, prepayments, journals, P&L and balance sheet analysis, budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis and ad-hoc reports. Remote/office hybrid working (3 days on-site, 2 days remote) is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar Assistant/Management Accountant role.
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and reconciliations.
• Active study toward ACCA/CIMA/AAT with commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
• Post accruals, prepayments and journals.
• Support P&L and balance sheet analyses; assist budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Produce ad-hoc financial reports and analysis.
• Assist year-end statutory accounts and audit preparation.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow reporting.
• Participate in purchase and sales ledgers; process supplier invoices and customer receipts.
• Maintain robust month-end reporting and assist external audits.
• Support process improvements and business partnering with operational teams.
