Job summary

The Ashdown Group is seeking an accomplished Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. The role is hybrid - you'll work from home 2 days per week with 3 days in the office.

You will support monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with month-end and year-end close processes. You will be involved in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections and variance analysis, plus supplier payments, VAT returns and accurate

Qualifications

• Personable finance professional with strong analytical skills.
• Pursuing CIMA or ACCA qualifications; study support provided.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Perform cash flow projections and variance analysis, liaising with colleagues and explaining financial information clearly.
• Process purchase invoices and supplier payments, review purchase ledger, and support VAT returns.
